It's a day late, but I had to start over because I am an idiot lol. Anyways, here is the third and final part of my "Look Back" series. The Anime of summer 2014 edition.
17. Majimoji Rurumo
This show is a romantic comedy. Itis in the same vein as "Heaven's Lost Property". A main character harasses girls for comedic effect and then gets beaten up by said girl. It is one of the tropes in anime that give it a bad name. Unlike most of the shows like this however, this show actually develops some heart. It is a good watch to see if you like this kind of comedy.
Anime you may also like: The "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat, Baka toTest, Ixion Saga DT (if you want the same kind of humor without the perv element.)
Should you watch? No, but it is close.
*18-23 I've seen none of them so can't give much of opinion about them. Psycho-Pass is yes for should watch, but no idea how different the "NewEdit" is from the original. These are the names of the shows in order just for the sake of completeness: Minarai Diva, Momo Kyun Sword, Nobunga Concerto, Persona 4 The Golden Animation, Psycho-Pass New Edit Version, PuriPara.
24. RAIL WARS!
Made by Passione and directed by Yoshifumi Matsuda. His only credit is being a supervisor for "Dog Days"
This show is a bad show. Terrible. It looks to be a harem but might just be a general slice of life... about train school. I only made it to ep.2 before I tapped out. Everything about it is bad, including the animation. I saw no reason why anyone should watch this... ever. Easily the worst thing I've seen this season.
Anime you may also like: I'm hesitant to suggest anything here because I have no idea what a person who likes Rail Wars! would like. I'll just go with Rosario + Vampire and Oreshura. They are better at least.
Should you watch? Nooooooo...ooooooo *takes a breath* oooooo.
25. Re. Hamatora
Made by Naz and Lerche and directed by Seiji Kishi. He has worked on "Angel Beats!" and "Seton no Hanayome" aka "My Bride is a Mermaid".
The show is a detective show with added super powers. The detective agency, named Hamatora, solves various crimes. Some of them felt like filler, but it was entertaining filler for the most part. The show has some interesting twists, nice fights, and good character development. It is all around good anime. It also has one of the catchiest opening songs I've heard in a while
Anime you may also like: Tokyo ESP, K Project, Gokukoku no Brynhilder aka Brynhilder in the Darkness
Should you watch? Yes
26. Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!? aka Invaders of the Rokujouma!?
Made by Silver Link and directed by Shin Ōnuma. He has worked on "WataMote" and "Ef:Tales of Melodies"
This show is the standard harem comedy though it doesn't take itself seriously. It makes fun of some anime stereotypes, like the magical girl for example, and it works quite well. The premise is silly, a guy gets a cheap apartment and different girls try to take it for various reasons, and it just keeps adding the silly All the girls take the stereotypes of anime girls and runs with it. A surprisingly decent show.

27. Sabagebu! aka Survival Game Club!
This show was made by Pierrot and directed by Masahiko Ōta. He worked on "Love Lab" and "Yuruyuri".
This is a comedy school club type of anime. An anime about joining a strange school club is a classic premise in the comedy slice of life type of anime. This one is a military club which has mock battles. I didn't find the show particularly funny. The art and animation are great, but the show was just boring. I think the characters just weren't interesting enough to hold my attention. The show is fine for what it is, it just tries too hard for laughs. Just look at the picture for an example of what I mean.
Anime you may also like: Nanana's Buried Treasure, World Conquest Zvezda Plot, D-Fragments aka D-Frag!
Should you watch? No.
28. Seirei Tsukai no Kenbu: Blade Dance aka Bladedance of the Elementalers
Made by Tink and directed by Tetsuya Yanagisawa. He worked on "Devil Lady" and High school DxD
This show is a basic harem with a good deal of fan service. It can be funny at times, but it really isn't worth watching for the funny parts. Animation is pretty good, but it can't save the awful story and characters that have been in every harem since its inception.
Anime you may also like: High School DxD, Dragonar Academy
Should you watch? No.
*29-31. I also haven't seen any of these and have no plans to do so. The first is based off a video game I never heard of and the other two didn't look good. I could be wrong, but I think I'll just skip them for now since this post has taken a day longer than expected already. For the sake of completeness, the titles were: Sengoku Basara Judge End, Shirogane no Ishi: Argevollen, and Shounen Hollywood: Holly Stage for 49.
32. Space Dandy 2
It was made by Bones and directed by Shinichirō Watanabe. He is one of the more well know directors having directed "Cowboy Bebop" and "Samurai Champloo".
A scifi comedy with moments of stylized action Bones and Watanabe? When they get together, magic usually happens. It wasn't magical this time, but the results weren't bad. There is a much more comedic feel to Space dandy as opposed to say Bebop, but a lot of the feel of Bebop is still there. The show is episodic and doesn't have a main story line, which is a strange way to approach a narrative for Watanabe. The show is just strange when you get down to it, but that also makes it somewhat unique as well. Space dandy just equals good times, just don't expect anything deep.
Anime you may also like: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann aka Gurrem Lagann, Steins; Gate, Outlaw Star.
Should you watch? Yes.
33. Sword Art Online II
This was made by A-1 Pictures and directed by Tomohiko Ito. He worked on "Silver Spoon", and assistant directed for "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time".
This is a action, scifi kind of show. SAO...you know, I was never one of those guys that hated season one. I genuinely liked the first half of season one, even with its pacing issues, and was okay with the second half even if it felt similar to the Rapunzel fable. The second season he joins a new mmo, but it is more of the same really. He is generally overpowered and gets into cool fights thanks to A-1. This season did fix most of the issues I had with the first season. Asuna is barely in it and that was a plus.
Anime you may also like: Log Horizon, Accel World, No Game No Life
Should you watch? Yes
34. Tokyo ESP
Made by Xebec and directed by Shigehito Takayanagi. He worked on things like "The World God Only Knows" and "Galaxy Angel".
This show... think X-Men in Tokyo and you pretty much have the premise. Some of the better fights of the 2014 season, but the plot is so full of holes. The ending didn't really explain much either. Most of the powers are lackluster, with the exception of the main "villain". As it stands now, the anime is not complete so it's hard to recommend. There is a second season announced and that could change things for the better.
Anime you may also like: Toaru Majutsu no Indekkusu aka A Certain Magical Index, Shakugan no Shana, Ao no Exorcist aka Blue Exorcist.
Should you watch? No, at least not until a second season
35. Tokyo Ghoul
Made by Pierrot and directed by Shuhei Morita. Worked on "Gatchaman Crowds".
This show is a mixed bag. It is a action horror type of show. The characters are interesting and the super powers are animated amazingly. There are a few problems. The show has an awful sense of time. I have no idea if a day passes between an episode or a month. There is a lot of censoring with giant black marks. Sometimes taking up 90% of the screen. Hopefully that issue will be gone in the commercial release. Lastly, and most importantly, there was no ending. At all. It ended on a massive cliffhanger and left me with a bad taste about the whole series. It was a good anime, but those last two episodes were terrible.
Anime you may also like: Hellsing, Akame ga Kill!
Should you watch? No, at least not until a second season.
36. Zankyou no Terror
Made by MAPPA and directed by Shinichirō Watanabe. He directed things like the previously mentioned "Space Dandy" and "Cowboy Bebop" Music gets a mention for being amazing. The composer was Yoko Kanno.
Saving the best for last, this is my pick for the best of the season. The story gets a bit worse towards the end, but the beginning was so good I don't even mind. Everything about its music and animation was incredible. The story is a mystery kind of thing with psychological elements. The bad? There wasn't much of a fleshed out back story and the girl seemed kind of unnecessary. Other than that, it is a must watch. The opening and closing were both amazing a well.

And.... that's it. Hope this was somewhat informational and helps you decide on what to watch. I had to skip some on this list just because I didn't have the time to watch everything. I may update this post in the future, but for now covering about 30 isn't bad all things considered. I'll be back in 1 or 2 days with a new review for Shin Megami Tensei IV and a post about why I watch Fairy Tail. I'm also working on a look at the Fall 2014 season and making predictions...and as always, thanks for reading.
